Use one source image, then check each app
You can start with the same photo for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Each app may crop or process it differently. Keep a clear original so you can make a new version when needed.
Prepare a simple square
Choose a clear photo with one main subject. Keep faces and text away from the edges. In the DP converter, use Fit full photo in circle if you need to keep the whole photo. The result is a square file with room around the subject.
Save a reusable copy
Try JPG for a photograph or PNG for a logo. Choose an output size that suits the source image. A 1080-pixel export does not improve an original that lacks detail. Keep the original and edited file in separate places.
Upload and review each profile
Open the profile picture controls in each app. Select your saved image. Check the crop before saving. Avoid extra zoom if you need the full image. Menu names can change by app version and device.
Compare the visible results
Look at each profile as a small circle and in a larger view. Check the top of the head, chin, text, and logo edges. If one app hides a detail, make a version with more space around the subject.
Keep branding consistent
Use the same subject and colors even when the crop differs. Do not assume that transparent corners will appear the same in every app. For the shape rules, read the circle and square guide. For current WhatsApp controls, check the official profile help.
